With wildfires raging just outside of Santa Barbara already, you know it’s going to be a bad fire season. It’s only June and here we go, it seems as if our winter’s rain just helped the underbrush get thicker. The only problem with The Firewood Temple is access in and out of here; there’s only one road in and out but the only good thing is, expensive estates sit at the foot of the mountian thus the fire district keeps their water lines in good shape.
The Cobb Fire in Sonoma and Lake Counties was beyond massive and I’ll always remember the atomic bomb looking smoke cloud rising above it. That sight alone would worry the most seasoned firefighter. The land is still dry after 5 years of drought and the hills have already turned golden yellow. That’s not a good sign of things to come.
The weather people say we will be getting a dose of hot weather over the coming days and we can only hope the winds don’t come with it. This morning I got up early to do my firewood yoga but even the morning sun was too intense. This too will pass
