Things That Won’t End Good…

There are a few places in the world I have no desire to travel to. First is Aleppo Syria with all its destruction and cold blooded killers walking the streets. I figure if you get taken into custody with an American passport, you’ll be the next condemned prisoner wearing that now infamous orange jumpsuit. I’m quite sure there’s no reasoning with your captors and asking for mercy would be met by laughs.

Let’s see, how about being an educated and outspoken woman in Afghanistan? You saw what happened when that mob of men attempted to maim last year’s Nobel laureate. Remember how the pitch-fork wielding mob shouted for her to die. Somewhere in The Koran it says women should not attempt to get degrees from four year universities, board 787 dream liners or use a Mac Book Pro…

Closer to home and with much less violence, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kapernick decided to take a stand against the violence by some police on blacks. Out of protest, he chose not to stand during the national anthem. I bet he wished he had stood for the thousands of hate messages have overwhelmed his e-mail servers and clogged his voicemail system. The other NFL Team CEO’s have denounced his actions and vowed he has no home in their cities. Wow, for simply not standing up for The Stars and Stripes… This too will pass

  1. 34 years ago Jackie Robinson wrote “I cannot stand and sing the anthem. I cannot salute the flag. I know that I am a black man in a white world.”

The right has succeeded in flipping the script – now every time someone protests, they are the victims of disrespect.
