What a better place to be pumping water out of a manhole. I’m under the 580-80 split in Albany California. Above, thousands of cars and trucks are going by and here we are waiting for this manhole to empty. Rob loves this sort of work, I hate it. He asked the duty supervisor if I could help him and here I am.
This area is isolated with a chain link fence keeping people off the railroad tracks and a bike path linking this area with Berkeley. Just down the road is the last horse track in the Bay Area, it’s always empty and I have never seen horses running. Someday they will demolish the 1930’s concrete structure and build high price housing on the site. I can’t even imagine how much they will rent for being the view is perfect. Back to work. This too will pass
