SFO

That’s the old terminal at SFO, they finally moved the runway control tower to new location multimillion dollar gleaming facility. The tired old gray structure was used in so many movies. How about Bullitt with Steve McQueen where in the final scene there’s a shoot out in the arrival area. Ahhh, those were the days when you could see your loved one off at the gate.

Life was much more simple then, America was stuck in a war far away but unless you watched Walter Cronkite showing us the nightly body count, it didn’t affect you. The only thing we needed to be worried about back then were those damn hippies. My mother always told me to stay away from them because, well I don’t remember what they would do but it was better to be safe than sorry.

Yes, the old terminal at SFO saw a lot of people pass thru its portals. I just noticed the area where you could go outside and watch the planes land. I used to take my sons to where the planes would take off from. They loved how the hot exhaust would knock them over. Now there is a 20 foot high fence surrounding the area. No times were simpler back then… This too will pass

My brother and boyfriend had draft numbers 1 each. I had nightmares of body bags and them in them at night. It wasn’t simple. It was very very scary. Times now are very very scary too. It hasn’t changed except that we are all universally screwed now by trump unless we have a portfolio over a billion.
